ABOUT ME
.jpg)

My name is Milly Hencey. I am a Girl Scout of 12 years and decided that for my Gold Award I wanted to educate people on the thing that changed my life, a latex allergy. I found out in early 2018 that I am allergic to latex, and I found this out the hard way. I learned about my latex allergy because of a reaction that lasted about a month before I realized something was actually wrong. I also learned how to live with it from trial and error. So I wanted to create a space where people in my position can be informed. Having a latex allergy is hard, but I believe that you can find the positive in anything. Over the past year I have learned so much from something that seemed to be so negative. I see people in the media talking about how they overcome anxiety, stutters, losing their eyesight or hearing, etc, but I have never heard anyone talk about them being allergic to latex so openly and I want to share my story in the hopes that it helps someone out there. Being allergic to latex may change your life, but it does not have to control it.
If you or anyone you know is allergic to latex I would love to hear your/their story. Send me an email at livinglatexfree@gmail.com and let me know if it is okay to share your story on my website.
